Sacraments

Encounters with Jesus

"The sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace" (Baltimore Catechism, question 304).

God knew that we tend to focus on physical things, so he hides in physical things so that we will find him there.

There are three sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation and eucharist), two sacraments of healing (confession and anointing of the sick) and two sacraments of service (marriage and priestly ordination).
